Eco Enzyme, All Across Tarakanita

The morning of Wednesday 5th June 2024, we had an event for World Environment Day. That day, we had to wear our PE’s (Physical Education) uniform. We didn’t know exactly what we were doing, but had a clue from the Monday before.

On the Monday 3rd June 2024, 2 days before this current event, we had our last School Year Exam, as well as a gathering of separating our Eco Enzyme solution with it’s fruity components. That sudden event corresponds with this current one, by continuing, cleaning, as well as celebrating our World’s Environment.

Although, what is World Environment Day? 

World Environment Day is a world renowned celebration, celebrated on 5th June every year to encourage awareness and environmental protection. In a remarkable initiative to combat deforestation and restore biodiversity (drishtiias, 2024). The theme of this year’s World Environment Day is “Land Restoration, Desertification and Drought Resilience”

Another relevant question, What is Eco Enzyme?

Eco-enzyme is the product of fermentation from organic waste such as vegetable, fruit, sugar and water. Eco-enzyme can be used in agriculture, medicine, and others. This study aimed to analyse the compositions of fruit and vegetable that produce the highest quality eco-enzyme (iopscience).

In connection to it’s theme and Indonesia’s current problem, Tarakanita across Indonesia has used this day to water the plants using the Eco Enzyme we students made.

On that Wednesday, we were gathered and taught a song about World Environment Day. It goes a little like this:

As well as a slogan that goes like this

After learning this, we 10th graders were brought to a different school building. The Middle School of Tarakanita, SMP Taraknita Gading Serpong to be precise. All of us (TK, SD, SMP, and SMA) were gathered to hear a few explanations about Eco Enzyme.

After that gathering, we were scattered back to our school area. We were tasked to water our plants with the Eco Enzymes. While this was happening, a few other of us (OSIS and DKA) were tasked with pouring some Eco Enzyme to the river nearby.

Some time of this mixture being spread about, we gathered back in the middle to close it off by washing many hands, retrieving our phones and bags, and finally going home. (Lilin, X.3)
