Earth Without ART Is Just Eh

On the most awaited day of this school year, Friday 14 June 2024, we students of SMA Tarakanita Gading Serpong had yet another event. We gathered together that morning feeling giddy and excited awaiting these last few hours.

For what you may ask?

For the receiving of our Report Books and an Art and Science Expo.

Right now, this article will read about the Art and Science Expo. But what is an Art and Science Expo?

“These exhibitions are usually organized by schools, colleges, museums, and other educational institutions to provide a platform for students and artists to exhibit their talents and showcase their innovative ideas” (ccpetaro.edu.pk). In this case, its an event to share and showcase different creations and information on certain topics on the tables.

This Expo had many different tables on different subjects and clubs held here at our school. Such as Sciences, Languages, Robotics, Arts, Social Studies, and much more!

For us five (Jon [X.2], Lilin [X.3], Kia [X.5], AJ [X.6], and Pak Andre [Art Teacher]), we had the honor of planning, arranging, and maintaining the Arts table. It was placed on the front Lobby Entrance of our school. Many creations and arts from students of grade 10 and 11 were arranged nicely, from small to big.

The pieces placed were of many different forms. Big and small, 2D and 3D, on paper and some on/with other media. Each piece also had small nametags in front of them displaying who, what, when made these creations, as well as the name of the piece.

Another honorable mention is an album filled with even more Art, placed at the very end of the table. This album of A6 papers were some pieces from the club Mural (of which where we standees are all from). The pieces inside are places around this very school or just artistic liberties taken from somewhere else.

Next to this Album, there’s a box of stickers made by us and some from other students! We gave out a sticker for everyone who signed the visitation book (that’s how we got over 200 visitations-).

Some designs on the stickers are based on Tarakanita logo’s colors and some on game characters and memes. All of them were digitally made, printed, and cut carefully.

Our stand was up from 08.00AM ‘till 11.30AM WIB. We were pretty tired afterwards, but it was good fun to be given this opportunity. We tidied up and went home at 12.00AM.

That’s all for this school year. Thank you for this Expo, this opportunity, and this school year of 2024.

See you on the next one everyone!

(Lilin, X.3)
